Below are a few of the frequently asked questions the CCA Board has fielded over the years.

  • Is there a potential discount for using Evergreen Waste Services (spoiler: this is unlikely to happen). On several occasions CCA has attempted to arrange this on behalf of enthusiastic residents, but we simply have never gotten enough commitment to pursue it.

  • What is the status of the proposed traffic flow changes on Marsh Road (Baynard Blvd. and Crest Rd. intersections)?
Please see the news update below regarding the Baynard intersection:

The information about both potential projects has been scarce and while CCA has inquiries out to our State Representatives we have no further information presently. Any concerned resident is welcome to contact the DelDOT office directly to raise questions and voice their opinions about these proposals.

  • I don’t have time to join the Board but wish to contribute. What can I do?
Oh there is much! Our community has a series of small events that promote the welcoming friendly atmosphere that makes Carrcroft so special. Each year we are involved with an Easter Egg Hunt, Halloween Parade and Holiday Caroling Event (in coordination with Carrcroft Elementary). We desperately need volunteers for these activities as discussed here:

Beyond that CCA is desperately in need of community outreach efforts; e.g., distributing newsletters, flyers and dues reminders. Maintaining our email communications, website, and social media pages. Assisting with mall cleanup (see below) and welcome baskets for new neighbors. The list is endless and any time you can dedicate we promise will be rewarding for you (not financially though).

  • What is with all the down trees and branches in the common areas?
Carrcroft has lovely malls with aging trees that are constantly dropping limbs. We need volunteers for cleanup duty as every little bit helps. As we approach a future in which we attempt to maintain modest dues fees ($50) we will need more assistance from our residents for upkeep if we are to keep paying for necessary services. Landscaping companies charge significantly extra for removal of down branches and if we were secure this in our contract we run the risk of shorting the amount we may require for future snow removal.

  • Speaking of snow what is it with the plows either arriving late, neglecting roads or scuffing my lawn?
As discussed on our contracts page the snowplowing kicks in automatically at 3 inches (accumulation reported on www.snow.deldot.gov). Plowing does not start until the snow stops and commercial properties get completed first. CCA routinely must acquire bids for these services; a process that takes time and we must weigh factors such as the cost, availability, etc. Our neighborhood is a complex array of narrow (sometimes steep) streets, many without decent lighting, curbs or sidewalks – and we please request your patience and understanding when plowing does not go flawlessly. Please contact us with concerns and we will work with the company to rectify matters as timely as possible.

  • Why did you approve a non-compliant fence that is not within our guidelines?
We have fence guidelines and ask that residents be mindful of them in order to maintain the beauty of our neighborhood. We have never outright approved a fence outside of those guidelines, but we must recognize that CCA depends on enforceable county codes and goodwill of people to adhere to the approved guidelines that we have agreed upon as a community.
