Today the CCA Board was notified by Carrcroft Elementary School Principal Mark Overly of an increase in suspicious activity including vandalism on the school grounds. These acts are mostly occurring during evening hours and the NCCPD have been notified. Please we urge you to also contact the authorities if further issues are observed. Thank you.
Happy Thanksgiving
From the entire CCA Board we wish you and your family a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday!
Also please check the EVENTS page for details of an upcoming holiday caroling event courtesy of Carrcroft Elementary. Tentatively this is scheduled for 12/15, but more details to come!
Yard sale, dues and other miscellaneous musings
Life and work often get in the way of posting much on this site. According to Squarespace analytics some people do continue to visit though. So for those who do here are some random thoughts:
Yes we are having a yard sale this year. The details are on the Events page and in the Calendar. Communicating such things is difficult because half our residential population prefers physical signs and the other half ignores them (but may read email… or even this site). If you would want to help CCA post some signs about the mall areas we could use your help. Please contact us and thank you!
CCA Board participation is in dire shape. COVID hasn’t helped us recruit new members especially as we’ve had limited in person meetings the last few years. We could use more help and fresh ideas so if you have even the slightest desire to serve your community please reach out.
It is challenging to keep up with who is new to the neighborhood so please we’d encourage you to let your neighbors know of this site so we can get their information.
Dues are being actively collected (as they always are) and are essential for us to maintain the neighborhood. There is a breakdown of what the funds are used for elsewhere on this site. Thanks if you’ve already paid.
We may have a fall community forum— this is still being decided, but if we do it will be posted to Events section with full details and agenda.
From the entire CCA Board we wish you well and hope you and your family are enjoying the summer.
Civic Dues Reminder
Please submit your yearly Civic Association Dues if you have not already done so. These dues are part of your civic responsibility required to keep our neighborhood safe and clean. Thank you.
Alert - Home Invasion
There was a reported home invasion near Brentwood/Carrcroft Blvd. area this past Saturday evening. Please report any suspicious activity to the New Castle County Police Department.
6/22 - Community Forum
Thanks to Master Corporal Hester, Sen. Kyle Evans Gay and all those who were able to attend the community forum. As a reminder meeting minutes are posted to the website.
Political / Campaign Signage
The Carrcroft Community and its civic association cannot endorse individual candidates for public office. The entrance and grass median of all of our boulevards are owned and maintained by the community. Any such signs planted in these areas are not done so with approval of the Board.
“I saw the sign and it opened up my eyes,
I saw the sign”
Our sincere gratitude…
Thanks to all the community members who participated in the recent Spring Cleanup of the malls as well as those who helped coordinate the Easter Egg Hunt! Both were a resounding success!
Snowplowing
Carrcroft is a difficult neighborhood to plow given the variety of wide and narrow streets, hills, and divided boulevards. Our contractor is aware of a few recent complaints regarding damaged grass patches and missed roads. Please continue to notify CCA if there are any issues, and we will contact the company on your behalf. We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding.
Welcome Baskets
The CCA Board is looking for volunteers to help assemble and distribute welcome baskets to new residents. These are small baskets including a pasta meal, a few household items and a newsletter, which are delivered to newly sold houses in the neighborhood.
Holly Feldheim has generously dedicated her time to this activity for several years now and would like to pass the responsibility on to a fellow neighbor. Please contact the CCA Board if you are interested. Thank you!
